This garden is the legacy of two well-known Pacific Northwest gardeners, Loie Benedict and Marjorie Baird, through the preservation of plants from their personal gardens. The garden also highlights the love each of them had for the value of a plant that delights the senses. Throughout the seasons, look for interesting blooms, berries, colors and leaf shapes. Some of the seasonal interest comes from the collection of deciduous conifers, magnolias, camellias, rhododendrons, and hellebores. The Lake Wilderness Arboretum’s original Little Free Library also has a home in the Legacy Garden.
